Questions about wedding negatives:
Do you have packages that include the negatives?
Yes all of my packages include negatives.
My policy on negatives is:
At no additional charge all wedding clients can store their own wedding negatives after a two-year hold back.
Can I have my negatives before the two-year hold back?
Yes for a $100.00 fee you can purchase your negatives before the two-year hold back.
Questions about black & white photography:
Can I have 50% black & white photography and 50% color photography included in my package on my wedding day?
Yes you can have as much or as little black & white photography included in your wedding package. I work with a minimum of two camera systems on location. One of my camera systems will have color film in it and the other will have black & white film in it.
What is a sepia print?
A sepia print is a warmer brown print. It gives your black & white photograph a retro look. If you look at most black & white prints from the 20's and the 30's Sepia was the industry standard.
Questions about enlargements and film format:
What is the difference between a custom enlargement and a machine enlargement?
Both custom and machine enlargements are printed at G. King Photo a custom lab by one of Vancouver's top technicians. Only if your enlargements require special cropping, dodging or burning do you need a custom enlargement.
What is the difference between having my wedding photographed in 35mm film or 120 medium format film?
A good rule of thumb in determining if you should have your wedding photographed in the more expensive 120 medium format film is for you to ask yourself how large am I going to enlarge my photographs. If your answer is I will be enlarging my wedding photos to 8x10 and possibly one 11x14 then 35mm film format is more than adequate. If you are enlarging many of your photos to 16x20 or 20x24 size then it is recommended you have your park photos done in the 120 medium format film.
Why do you only use professional film?
Professional film is lower contrast with higher color saturation, which gives it a superior dynamic range. What that means to you is the colors are richer and the enlargements look much crisper.
